Why DPF diagnosis is difficult
Customers can arrive with warning lights, reduced power, repeated regeneration, increased fuel consumption or inspection concerns. These symptoms can arise from numerous causes, including sensors, driving pattern, engine condition, turbocharger faults, EGR problems or the filter itself.
Fault codes and pressure data are useful, but they do not directly prove filtration efficiency. DPF Check adds a direct assessment of particles leaving the exhaust.

Using the result responsibly
A GOOD result
A good result indicates that the measured particle level is consistent with effective filtration under the test conditions. It does not confirm that every part of the engine and emissions system is fault-free.
A MARGINAL result
A marginal result should prompt careful review, repeat testing where appropriate and consideration of vehicle condition, test procedure and supporting diagnostic information.
A POOR result
A poor result indicates that filtration efficiency requires investigation. Possible causes include physical filter damage, tampering or another system problem. Replacement should not be recommended without appropriate diagnosis.
Repair validation
Testing before and after suitable work provides a clear way to demonstrate whether particle performance has improved. This gives the workshop and customer useful evidence and helps protect both parties from assumption.
